And American singer tobyMac has landed the honor for Artist Of The Year.
Chart researcher Wes Jay says UNITED’s song Touch The Sky has secured the most airplay of any Christian song on Australian Christian radio in the past year, while tobyMac has generated the most high rotation airplay for any Christian act across multiple tunes.
“Touch The Sky spent a total of 30 weeks in the survey,” Mr Jay says. “It dominated the top spot for 16 consecutive weeks. That’s unprecedented!”
“This is the first time UNITED has nabbed Song Of The Year, and it is tobyMac’s second time for Artist Of The Year,” Mr Jay says.
“TobyMac secured Artist honors with Beyond Me, Feel It and Not Forgotten – the Ryan Stevenson song on which he’s the featured act.”
Previous honors for Song Of the Year include Fix My Eyes – For King & Country (2014), Words – Hawk Nelson (2013), Me Without You – tobyMac (2012), Reach – Peter Furler (2011), and Get Back Up – tobyMac (2010). Acts previously honored for Artist of the Year include For King & Country (2013, 2014), tobyMac (2012), Nathan Tasker (2011), and newsboys (2010).
